Military Outreach

Severns Valley intentionally seeks to reach out to, serve and connect with military members in our congregation.

We do this through:

• Small groups and Sunday school - classes are focused on integrating and involving military members into discipleship and fellowship opportunities.

• Operation Embrace - a ministry designed specifically to meet the needs of military families.

• Care packages - Children's Sunday school groups regularly send care packages to deployed soldiers.

• Prayer - soldiers' names are listed on the Wednesday and Sunday prayer sheets.

• Church office - names and addresses of deployed soldiers are made available to members to send cards or notes of encouragement.

• Church events - military appreciation events are hosted on occasion for active duty military families to say "thank you" for serving our country.

• Visitation - like all other new members, military members joining the church are contacted (both on and off post) to ensure they are connected with our church body.

Severns Valley has many Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Retired Military members who are active involved in ministry at Severns Valley.
